Brian posts a writing prompt each week and the most current one asks what book or other piece of art influenced us as kids.I especially remember reading these two series of books. I'd go to the library (By myself! I was maybe in 5th grade.) and just browse around looking for new additions.
I'm not sure, now, why I loved them so much. Maybe it was the perfectness of their lives, or the adventures, but these are the kids who got me into reading.

I had the Bobbsey Twins series! I remember being wrapped in them! I also had the Norah of Billabong series, the Katy books and Heidi. But strangely, today, I can't remember one single storyline from the Bobbseys or Billabong series, but know still almost every detail of Heidi's adventures on her Swiss mountain! Perhaps it is because I live on a mountain now!
I didn't do that much reading when I was a kid. Only in adulthood did I see how much I missed out on.
